Take a deep dive into the world of wildstyle and graffiti lettering.
In collaboration with Artspace NC:
Instructor: MCK
Join MCK and Artspace for Graffiti 102- Style Basics and deep dive into the world of wildstyle and graffiti lettering.
You’ll break down the basics of letter structure and work together with MCK to create your very own masterpiece using MCK’s signature techniques. Students will follow along on canvas using markers, ink and paint to create their own renditions of their “tags”. Newcomers and experienced artists are welcome to join the class, the goal will be for each participant to leave with a thorough understanding of how to create proportionate letters and sketches, applying color theory, adding special effects and all the tips and tricks to take their style to the next level. Practicing on paper and canvas prior to working outdoors is essential for success- so we will teach you everything you need to start your graffiti journey.
Students will leave with a finished canvas for themselves to keep.
Artspace, your host for this event, is a non-profit visual arts center located in Downtown Raleigh. Visit Artspace for a multitude of exhibitions featuring national and local artists and to enjoy a community of more than 35 artists working in studio, artists in residence, and to find other art classes for all ages and abilities.
