Idyllic, I think is the word, for picking flowers, contemplating colors, enjoying a cold drink, and sharing some homemade ice cream…
In collaboration with Wrenn’s Farms…
Christina Wrenn began growing cut flowers 4 years ago after finishing her Horticulture degree from NC State. She started with a single row of zinnias, all of which sold very quickly, and over the past 3 years has increased her production to over an acre of flowers! They now grow ornamental flowers in rows as well as using a greenhouse and a high tunnel full of beautiful blooms. Christina and her husband, Austin Wrenn, have turned the family farm in Zebulon into a full time job alternating between strawberry and flower seasons throughout the year and this summer you’ll be able to see a multitude of flowers; zinnias, snapdragons, dahlias, celosia, cosmos, sunflowers and more.
Come spend your evening with Christina, exploring her beautiful garden of flowers and receiving the privilege and joy of picking and cutting them to your heart’s content. This workshop will begin with a tour of the farm followed by a session of gathering, then Christina will lead a workshop on arranging and caring for ornamental flowers all of which you will get to take home with you! Finally, we’ll conclude the experience with some sunset refreshments and delicious ice cream made right there on the farm.
All you’ll need to bring with you is a pair of close-toed shoes! Also, just so you can be aware, there will likely be bees pollinating the farm.
