Rhythm alone has kept people united long before anything else…
In collaboration with Sweet Peas Urban Gardens and Drum for Change:
Drums are exciting, emotive, and empowering. For countless centuries people all over the planet have used drums to enhance culture, connection, and wellness. Participating students will learn world music through hand drumming and will explore wisdom traditions rooted in the idea that nature is a model for health and happiness.
This ladies only workshop is a four-week cohort where participants commit to being there for and with one another in a hands-on experiential learning community. It’s all about connection, creativity, harmony, and healing with a group of like-minded women getting together to create music together!
Your teacher is Greg Whitt — an award-winning teaching artist, edutainer, team builder, and storyteller. He’s the founder of the Raleigh Drum Circle, executive director of the Drum Circle Facilitators Guild, and an arts commissioner for the city of Raleigh.
Lastly, this event will take place at Sweet Peas Urban Gardens, a small urban farm making a big difference in sustainable agriculture. The farm hosts workshops like this one encouraging deeper connections to nature, self, and community. They focus on sustainability starting right in your own backyard.
*This ticket includes loaner drums, fresh kombucha, and grants you access to ALL 4 evenings of drumming in this series (March 2, 9, 16, 30 from 7-8 PM).
