Preparing a garden for its upcoming season is like welcoming the passage of time…

In collaboration with Carolina Garden Coaching:

Come plan your fall garden with garden coach Tiayonna Liska!

Now’s the time to start thinking about what you want to grow for this fall. We’ll cover the key aspects of garden planning with an emphasis on helping you organize, plan, and prepare to swap out those summer veggies for cool seasonal ones.

You’ll also learn what makes fall gardening one of the best seasons to garden in and the differences from spring/summer gardening that will prepare you for a fruitful year round gardening experience. Part of this experience will be drawing up fall planting layouts! Each participant will receive CGC garden planning resource tools, graph paper, and a 2023-2024 garden planning journal.

You’ll be guided by expert Tiayonna Liska, a garden coach with eight plus years of kitchen garden experience. She grew up like many of us, with no immediate ties to growing food except for the occasional visit to her granddad’s garden. However she never forgot that magical place with sunflowers as tall as houses and cabbage heads too large for a child to wrap two arms around.

After a transformative college horticulture class, she decided to pursue an advanced degree in Agricultural Education in order to share her love with others and has been doing so every since. A secret mission of her’s is for every educational center in NC to have their very own educational garden.
