Public art gives a city its visual voice, find out what Raleigh has to say…
In collaboration with Bad Art Co and CoLab Raleigh:
Join us to learn from start to finish, about the process, successes, and challenges of creating the Black Main Street historical sidewalk murals in downtown Raleigh.
This workshop will be led by local artist and founder of Bad Art Co, Shady Kimzey and Eno Arts Mill’s 2023 Artist in Residence, TJ Mundy. They will guide you through how you can use public art to honor the past and its impact in the present. You will then have time to create concepts and begin sketching your own public art ideas.
This workshop is great for artists to know about resources & where to get started but also fantastic for community members and even arts administrators to learn about the public art process and just practice some unique creative skills!
CoLab Raleigh, our host organization and location, is a creative business of Raleigh artists sharing their local art in the community. The mission behind CoLab is to create a supportive community of artists that’s accessible and inclusive which provides opportunities to connect, engage, and learn.
