Armageddon Dinner Party – Cultivating Creative Conversations that Matter

August 19, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

$62.00 – $249.00

Embracing the challenges of the future is always easier when we come together…

In collaboration with Sweet Peas Urban Gardens:

Think of this experience as a living TED talk and edible think-tank. This unique dinner and conversation experience will be interactive, unusual, provocative, and profound.

While enjoying a farm to table dinner packed full of creativity, you’ll explore what it means to embrace change in an uncertain future via table topic discussions and integrative expressive arts. Eat and learn through a hands-on food experience and by engaging with each other.

This evening will be co-facilitated by expert coach and author Annelies Gentile and professor and topic expert Sarah Egan Warren, Ph.D. of NC State. Together, they’ll hold space for dialogue that embraces both the levity and largess of our modern future.

Never in our human history have we had tipping points of environmental demise, social, economic, and political unrest, and the unpredictable rise of artificial intelligence and other technology. It’s a lot to process and felt by communities everywhere. Let’s face it together!

The creative minds leading this experience…

Annelies M Gentile, MA, PCC will be your lead facilitator. She brings 30+ years experience and a pocketful of hope. She’s a Visionary, Coach, Process Artist, Author of From Chaos to Calm :: Leading Change from the Inside Out, and founder of Conduit for Change, LLC. With a masters in Coaching and a gift for deep listening, one-to-one, with groups and from the stage, Annelies is an invaluable guide to resilience— sense, solace and sanity for our rapidly changing world.

Guest facilitator Sarah Egan Warren, Ph.D. has helped scientific and technical professionals, faculty, and students communicate clearly and ethically for over twenty years. Currently, she teaches ethical data storytelling at NC State, and was a recent presenter at the AI in Learning Summit.

Your local chef for the evening is George Acosta. He has 10 years experience working around food having participated in the Culinary Institute Of America and working on small farms across the country. One of George’s goals is to provide unique experiences through food with a special focus on creativity and plant-based cuisine.

Last but not least, the hosting space is an incredible urban farm that is making a big difference. In past workshops Sweet Peas has shown us how to inoculate mushrooms, ferment and can foods, and grow microgreens, but this week they’re providing space for something truly unique with this special dinner experience.
