A stroll to the local pub or brewery is a tradition as old as time…
In Collaboration with Taps & Corks Tours:
Take a break from all the holiday shopping with an urban hike through the Whitaker Mill neighborhood as we visit two breweries and a cidery. On this Saturday tour, we’ll taste local beer and cider, along with light appetizers. We’ll also explore the history of craft beer in Raleigh and North Carolina.
You may even help Santa out by discovering some beer or cider that would make great stocking stuffers!
The locations – Lynnwood Brewing Concern Taproom, East Bower Cidery and Neuse River Brewing – are just a short walk from each other. We’ll meet near Neuse River Brewing, walk about a mile to Lynnwood Brewing Concern, then to nearby East Bower Cidery. From there, we’ll return to Neuse River Brewing for our final tasting. Weather permitting, we’ll hang out in the outdoor space that makes these three locations so appealing.
Your guide is Natalie Hampton, owner of Taps & Corks Tours. Natalie has been writing about North Carolina beer and wine for 12 years on the Tarheel Taps & Corks blog. She enjoys sharing her passion for North Carolina beer through walking tours, and always looks forward to winter seasonal beers and ciders. Jingle all the way!
Plan to reach the meeting point about 10 minutes early to park and locate the group at the vacant lot, across Pershing Street from Neuse River Brewing. Parking is on the street.
*Must be 21 to participate. Tour is rain or shine. Wear good shoes for walking and clothing appropriate for the weather.
