Event Series Event Series: Downtown Raleigh Coffee Stroll

Coffee Stroll Through Downtown Raleigh

November 2 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

$25.00

Gertrude Stein once said, “Coffee is a lot more than just a drink; it’s something happening. Not as in hip, but like an event, a place to be, but not like a location, but like somewhere within yourself. It gives you time, but not actual hours or minutes, but a chance to be, like be yourself, and have a second cup.”

In collaboration with Greg Whitt:

In this experience, Greg will meet you in front of Marbles Kids Museum right in front of Moore Square to begin this relaxing and delicious exploration of Raleigh’s downtown Coffee scene. You’ll learn about the history of the city, both general and coffee related, and tour the downtown area walking in and out of local coffee shops to talk with baristas and nerd out on coffee roasts and the downtown coffee culture.

Regular stops on this stroll may include A place at the Table, the Bean Sprout Cafe, Videri Chocolatier, Raleigh Raw, Sir Walter Coffee, 42 and Lawrence, and others, but the tour is a little different each time depending on timing, guest interest, and the weather.

Greg is an avid coffee lover and a frequent dweller of Raleigh’s proliferating local coffee shop scene. He’s also an award-winning facilitator and arts-educator teaching applied philosophy through music in corporations, congregations, communities, and classrooms. Greg has called Raleigh home since 1986; he is the founder of the Raleigh Drum Circle and hyper-active in the local arts community. You can find him online at www.drumforchange.com, in a hammock, or perhaps behind a brew of one sort of another in locally-owned establishments throughout the city.

*Coffee tastes are provided, but definitely bring some spare cash in case you spy something unique you would like to try for yourself!
