Where Art Meets Belonging: Raleigh Street Art and Mural Walkabout

June 21 @ 10:00 am - 11:15 am

$25.00

A Saturday morning walk through creativity and connection…

In collaboration with Shawnette Rochelle:

In a world where so many of us feel increasingly disconnected, art has a quiet way of bringing us back to each other. Join Shawnette Rochelle for a Saturday morning walk that blends art, reflection, and conversation in downtown Raleigh. Whether you’re an artist, an art lover, or just someone craving deeper connection, this experience is for you.

We’ll start at CAM Raleigh and wind our way through the city’s vibrant murals, hidden corners, and thought-provoking public art. You’ll be invited to look beyond the surface at the city, at others, and within yourself. No art knowledge is needed. Just bring your curiosity, your open heart, and a willingness to see things—perhaps even yourself—a little differently.

Together, we’ll explore:

  • How public art tells the story of who we are and who we’re becoming
  • How creativity invites us to listen, share, and connect more deeply
  • What it means to belong in a changing city
The walk ends at Nash Square, where you’ll find local cafes, breweries, and plenty of spots to linger and keep the conversation going with fellow walkers. Good art, good people, good vibes. Come stroll with us!

About Shawnette Rochelle:

Shawnette Rochelle is an executive coach who collaborates with C-suite teams to strengthen alignment, elevate leadership, and navigate complexity with clarity and courage. Her immersive, high-impact leadership experiences help executive teams strengthen strategic alignment, accelerate execution, and develop scalable leadership behaviors. Outside the boardroom, Shawnette is a passionate supporter of the arts, a lifelong learner, and a seasoned traveler who believes that creativity lives at the heart of every transformation. Whether she’s working with an executive team or guiding a community art walk in her personal capacity, she’s always asking: What can we learn about ourselves and each other when we slow down and observe closely?

Shawnette’s excited to partner with People-First Tourism for this Art Walk series because she believes in art’s quiet power to bring people together and spark unexpected conversations.
