In collaboration with Simone LaRay Poetry:
Join us at the beautiful Haven Farm Shoppe for a relaxing Sunday evening of yoga, followed by an intimate and inspiring open mic session.
Zen and Pen is a unique open mic experience held every third Sunday at Haven, where wellness and art blend seamlessly. This experience begins with a wellness session exploring some of the products that Haven offers, followed by an outdoor yoga session on their shaded patio with one of their excellent instructors. The evening will then conclude with an open mic poetry hour aiming to spark your creativity and provide a safe space to connect and share art in an intimate and encouraging setting.
This experience is created by Simone LaRay, a writer and community organizer filling the Triangle area with more artistic expression. Simone is a mother of two, a lifelong educator, an author of multiple books, and the founder of The Poetry Lounge, a creative platform for all to “open their minds, share their heart, and speak their truth.”
LaRay curates each of her events with intentional themes and the ultimate goal of building community through the arts. Learn more about her here.
Haven Farm, located in Knightdale, is a remarkable local farm with much to offer. Founded by Leslie Logan-Brown in 2017, it has grown from humble beginnings to fulfilling its mission of helping people reconnect with the earth and each other.
At Haven Farm, you’ll find a variety of plants grown for wellness, a community garden where people can gather and learn to grow their own food, and a charming shop featuring homemade goods and plants.
