Experiments in Mixed Media with Oil and Cold Wax

February 3 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm

$85.00

Art is for everyone, all skill levels and all ages…

In collaboration with Artmosphere:

This workshop will introduce you to painting in oil and cold wax using various mixed media as a way to enhance your own creations. We will cover some of the basics, cold wax application methods, as well as color and composition along with exercises designed to expand your creativity.

You’ll learn ways to make rich textures by incorporating paper and found objects collage, sand, and a variety of other materials. This workshop will offer discussions/demos, lots of studio painting time, as well as individual discussion concerning your own personal direction in your art making.  We will work on both panels and paper.

All supplies to create up to 3 original paintings are included and no previous art experience necessary. You may also bring in a gessoed cradled wood panel (up to 16×16 in size) if you prefer.

*You may want to wear old clothes because our process could get messy.

The Artmosphere Community Arts Center provides space to create, participate in, support, learn and view arts through offering workshops, classes, studio space, art materials, music lessons, event space, an interactive community type garden and a gallery. Check out all the great work they do and stop by to get some great locally made gifts and art.
